Indian Ocean lodge
The lodge is a property of great character, built in the ‘lamu’ Arab
style and standing in four acres of walled gardens on a coral promontory
near casuarinas point in Malindi. The atmosphere is of an exclusive
Kenya coast home, a haven of privacy, comfort and relaxation with the
ambience of a bygone era.
Indian Ocean lodge guests are hosted by peter and Joanna Nicholas, who
have leaved and farmed and farmed in Kenya for many years. They know the
people, the history of the country, the wildlife and the sea intimately.
To ensure the exclusive nature of the lodge, a maximum of ten guests can
be accommodated at one time. There are five double rooms, each having a
four-poster bed with insect proof screen and overhead fan, bathroom en
suite and balcony.

| Accommodation is on full board basis and the
cuisine is excellent and varied. Soft dinks, alcoholic beverages
and a daily laundry service are also included.
The attractive garden contains fresh water
well and swimming pool, bordered by bougainvillea. The lodge has
its own private steps down to a secluded sandy beach, accessible
at low tide.

Peter and Joanna are available to take
you on shopping trips and local sightseeing excursions in the Malindi
area (viewing the ruins at Gedi, bird watching, visiting hell’s kitchen
etc) to organize light tackle fishing or take you snorkeling on the
colorful reef of the nearby Malindi marine national park. They can also
arrange tennis, golf, squish, windsurfing or scuba diving all of which
are available at the current charter rate.
The Lodge is situated in four acres of
walled gardens on a coral promontory overlooking the Indian Ocean in
Malindi. The five double rooms each have a four poster bed, insect proof
screen, overhead fan and ensuite bathroom and balcony.
A delightful swimming pool is bordered
by colorful bougainvillea and the Lodge has its own private steps down
to a sandy beach, accessible at low tide.
