Kilima Camp Masai Mara
The camp opened in December 2006 and is a luxurious private tented Camp
bordering the Maasai Mara Conservation area. Kilima Camp is just 15 minutes away
from the nearest air strip.
Kilima camp is surrounded by an
abundance of wildlife and offer a true African adventure in style and comfort.
Game viewing, whether by car or on foot, around the Camp is superb all year
round. From July to October you may witness the Great Migration where more than
one million wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River.
Kilima camp is an eco-friendly establishment with the utmost care for the
environment and its people, the Maasai.
The camp consists of twelve tents and is located 1,800 meters above sea level,
on top of the Siria escarpment, overlooking the Mara River (1,500 meters) with a
breath taking phenomenal view.
Each tent has its own verandah and en-suite bathroom. All tents benefit from a
fabulous view over the Mara plain and Mara river. Double or Twin rooms are
available. The bathrooms are fitted with flush toilets and a safari shower with
hot water. A charging facility for cell phones and laptops is available provided
by solar powered electricity. Lighting is all solar powered.
The spacious, central dining tent is Kilima Camp's meeting place where guests
gather to eat, drink, talk, play games, read, or just enjoy the view. The chef
has extensive experience managing kitchens in luxurious tented campsites and
provides you with excellent international cuisine, supplemented by a selection
of fine wines.
Dinner is served under canvas
in the dining area or under the stars, weather permitting. Before and after
dinner, relax by the campfire, or at our very special bush bar, and listen to
the magical sounds of the African bush - all this under the spectacular African
sky where the stars seem brighter than anywhere else!
Exclusive bush picnic luncheons for full day safaris, breakfast by the river,
sundown and bush dinners can be arranged on request.
