Lake Baringo Island Camp

Baringo is freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley. The camp is one of the most established tented sites and has been classed by thousands of visitors as their favoured place in Kenya's rift valley.

Island Camp Lake Baringo is located on the southern tip of Ol Kokwe Island,  an enchanted remote island on one of the most popular rift valley lakes. Each comfortable tent with its own bathroom, is tucked away under the shade of spreading acacia trees and separated by green lawns and natural rockeries.

The views of the surrounding Rift Valley are at their most spectacular from the refreshing, clear pool situated at the pinnacle of the camp. Winding paths lead down from the pool to the informal dining and bar areas.

Island camp Baringo is a small, exclusive and remote camp and offers a perfect opportunity to escape from the city life or a change of pace in between visiting the many national parks. A chance to relax, recuperate and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of this idyllic island.

Accommodation is in twenty three double tents with en suite bathrooms, all set under spreading acacia trees. There is also a large and secluded honeymoon tent down by the waters edge. The meal plan is full board though lunched could be organized.

The drive from Nairobi to Lake Baringo island camp is three and a half hours drive on tarmac paved road and access to the Island Camp is only by boat, driven by experienced boatmen. for parking is at the main land where security is provided for the vehicles left there

Activities include, swimming in the pool at the pinnacle of the camp with picturesque views, bird watching.

Optional boat trips around the lake, water-skiing, champagne breakfasts, guided walks to the hot springs. Visits to the local Njemps villages and close by Lake Bogoria Game Reserve popular with large numbers of flamingos, hot springs and the elusive and elegant Greater Kudu.
