Nairobi Hotels

The city was established in 1896 due to the construction of the Mombasa to Lake Victoria railway line. It was on this plateau at 1600 m. altitude that the Masai grazed their cattle along the small river called the 'E Nairobi', which means in Masai, 'cool' or 'cold'.

Nairobi is now a modern city with a cool unpolluted and healthy climate and a population of over one million. Nairobi hotels will range from recommendable hostels, to five star modern hotels. Camping in Nairobi is also possible at the Nairobi back packers. Conference in Nairobi is now popular with international hosting centres. Nairobi town is now formally the hub of Africa, hosting the head on UN in Africa and all major airlines arriving in Nairobi daily, the city is set to become one of the most convenient in Africa.

Got a day in a Nairobi hotel or just around Nairobi? Enquire about our daily tours into Nairobi national park, usually half day safaris departing either in the morning at 0800 to end at 1400 or starting at 1300 to finish at 1800 daily.

Nairobi National Park lies only 13 kms from the city centre and is fenced on all sides but open along part of it's south-east perimeter allowing a corridor for the natural migration of game which takes place with seasonal rains. The Athi River forms the southern boundary of the Park and the riverine forest along the river banks is home to many species of monkey and a wide variety of birds. With the exception of elephant, all of the 'big five' can be seen - rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. Cheetah, hyena and many species of plains game have also made this their home. Daily group trips into Nairobi national park could be organized.

The Carnivore Restaurant Nairobi is a popular eating out spot!
