SAMBURU CAMPING SAFARI

A safari to
Samburu Game Reserve, situated in the hot and
arid fringes of Kenya's vast Northern Frontier District.
Against a backdrop of volcanic mountains, gaunt hills and
withered scrub trees punctuate the sparse and moistness
terrain with clusters of the incredibly hardy desert rose
providing occasional flashes of vivid color.
Day 1 Nairobi - Samburu L . D
Leaving Nairobi in the morning you drive north, along the
foothills of Mount Kenya and across the equator. After
stopping for a picnic lunch, you continue into Samburu for
an afternoon game drive with dinner and overnight at your
campsite.
Samburu is home to various species of game
generally only found in these northern areas - Grevy's
zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, long necked gerenuk
and blue shanked Somali ostrich. Lion, cheetah and leopard
roam the savannah in search of their next meal.
Day 2 Samburu B . L . D
An early morning game drive is followed by a late breakfast
in camp. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive through the forests
of the Ewaso Nyiro River with good chances of spotting elephant browsing
on the lush riverine vegetation. Dinner and overnight in your camp.
Day 3 Samburu - Nairobi B
An early morning game drive is followed by breakfast in camp
and you then return to Nairobi stopping en route for a picnic lunch.
